PETIE'S MAILBAG

My humans made a mailbox for me and look what happened! Too many letters to print! - Petie

These letters are from 2000 - 2003 and are displayed for historical reference. We continue to get supportive letters all the time but are no longer updating the mailbag. Happy Reading :)

I am VERY interested in helping to launch the Pilot Dog Park. I too am a dog owner and live in Tacoma. And, as I work in Kent, there is an on-leash park close by and I bring my dog to work. I completely support the project and would like more information as to how I may help. Thank you, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

We are in the process of building our 4th (Do you believe that??) dawg park here in Eugene and I sooooo support and encourage you to keep doing the ground work for the pilot park in Tacoma! I have ONLY good things to say about our parks here in town and feel so blessed that our city planners are in cahoots with us on these projects and we have so much support from them. Hopefully, the same is true in Tacoma. When your park is opened and the public sees how wonderful the interactions between people and their pets can be, everyone will wonder why it ever took so long! Dog parks are growing all over the US and Canada!

I am interested in what location you've chosen for your park as I may be moving back to that area in the next year or so. Please contact me with any new info or put me on a mailing list. Woof!

I am very interested in having a Bark Park in the Tacoma area. Although I live in Orting now, I moved here from California where there are a lot of Bark Parks. I don't want to have to drive to Seattle or Redmond to take my dog, even though it would be worth it for her. I would like to take her to a regular place more local.

Please add me to your email list. Thanks for your efforts!

-Melissa Castle

I just moved from Redmond where we have a great dog park that works wonderfully. I have been bringing my dog there for a year. I was surprised to find Tacoma didn't have one. I would be willing to do what I can to help pave the way for a dog park in Tacoma! Let me know what I can do to help.

Hello -

I would like to offer any help I can afford to your cause. My companion and I have been attending Ft. Steilacoom Park and are dismayed by the recent rash of off-leash ticketing. Dogs need a park.

Please add me to your list on updates or volunteers for help.

Thanks

Hi -

We just moved to Lakewood with our dog, Charlie, and we have been investigating parks, walks and OLAs. Where is the proposed site for Tacoma, and what is the status of the project?

Thanks,

-Jennifer Conway

Petie,

I will be moving with my humans to the Tacoma area in 2003 after a temporary stay in Alexandria, VA. Actually, I live in Stuttgart, Germany right now and it is soooo dog friendly here that I know the adjustment to life in the U.S. is going to be a big pain in my hindquarters. In Germany, we can go ANYWHERE except butcher shops and bakeries. You can even find us in restaurants all the time! I love the public transit here, and parks are naturally for us canine types.

So, basically, I wanted to let you know I am interested in getting involved ahead of time. What can my human do for the cause?

All My Best,

-Zoe Dingo

So glad to hear about the dog park boy do we need one closer. Our mom tries to take us to Marymoor twice a week so we can run and play but by the time she gets home were ready to go again. Please let this become a reality we would also love to help do our part to get things going.

woof-woof (thank you)

Hi, first time at your site.

Let me know if I can be of some help in orchestrating the off leash park in Tacoma. I have two large dogs that would love to be unleashed LEGALLY!!!
